  1. Fleas get inside from windows and doors, and cracks in the floors - and you can be walking them in when you come into the house. They don't typically travel on people, but if you walk through grass, then they can jump on your shoes, socks and clothing. I've had to deal with fleas in the past, and never had a pet. And once they get in, well, they'll multiply. Be sure to treat your cat's bedding, vacuum frequently, and consider spraying or treating your home. They will multiply - into huge numbers if you don't stop them now. Baking soda mixed with salt will help dehydrate them. Do that on the bedding and any rugs, wait an hour and then vacuum.
